Shanna F. Purcell

Shanna F. Purcell founded Purcell Family Law, LLC in 2019. Prior to founding the firm, Shanna was a partner at a prominent Chicago family law firm and she has practiced exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law since 2000. Shanna has represented clients in a wide variety of family law issues, including divorce, maintenance, property distribution, child custody, parenting time, child support, parentage, college contribution, contempt and enforcement, and prenuptial agreements. In addition to her litigation experience, Shanna has drafted appellate briefs and she has trained in collaborative law through the Collaborative Law Institute.

Shanna received a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University (1989), focusing her studies in psychology and sociology. She later received a Juris Doctor from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (1999) and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November, 1999. Shanna is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. She was a past member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee Investigative Division and was recognized as a Leading Lawyer from 2016 through 2024.
